Assessment

The assessment has three components:

A sample mid-semester test is available in both PDF and Postscript formats. Sample answers for this mid-semester test are also available in both PDF and Postscript formats.

A sample final exam is available in both PDF and Postscript formats. Sample answers for this exam are also available in both PDF and Postscript formats.

The three previous actual mid-semester tests are also available:

These are pretty close in both structure and the level of difficulty to this semester's mid-semester test. Sample answers to these tests will not be available.

To pass the subject, you must get at least 15 out of 30 for the project work and at least 35 out of 70 for the mid-semester test and the exam. However, regardless of how you did on the projects, you should sit the exam, since the project hurdle can be waived.

The exam is closed book, and will be held during the usual examination period.

Attending the tutorials and workshops, and practicing, practicing and practicing some more are essential for passing the subject.

The results of the mid-semester test are now available. The average mark was 7 out of 10.
