Academic Background

In 2012, I finished my PhD in the Department of Computer Science and Software Engineering at the University of Melbourne in Victoria, Australia. My supervisors were Alistair Moffat and Justin Zobel.

Previously, I completed a Master of Science in 2007 at the Technical University Darmstadt, Germany as a student of Thomas Hofmann and, in 2004, I graduated from the University of Applied Sciences Mittweida (FH), Germany with a Diploma in Computer Science.

In 2006, I spent half a year at Cornell University, NY, USA as a visiting scholar, working with Thorsten Joachims and Filip Radlinski. During studies, I have also been working in the Department for Security Technology of the Fraunhofer Institute for Computer Graphics (IGD), Darmstadt, Germany.
